Hoe To Sew A Cute Owl Toy
Right, this is a tutorial of a cute owl toy I made yesterday!
What you need:
Some black material ( I used an old top)
Some white material
Felt,any colour
Needle and thread.
Sewing machine optional, i hand sewed my owl toy.
Have fun!
1. Right, firstly you need to cut out two biggish, long semi circles out of paper, this will be your template for your owls body.
2.Next you need to cut out some slightly smaller fat oval shapes, these will be the wings of the owl.
3. You now need to cut out the feet. Draw a small straight line and then do three kind of oval shapes coming off the straight line. One in the middle, one on the left and one on the right.
4. Now you cut the face. Right every one knows what a superhero mask looks like, right? So imagane that and draw a shape a bit like that. ( Only the outline-not the eye holes!)
5. The eyes next! Just draw two circles one small one and one slightly bigger one. They should fit in the face bit.
6. Now for the beak. Every one can draw a beak, right?! Just draw a smallish beaky shape.
7. Get out your black material. Trace around your owls body, twice. Cut it out.
8. Cut out four wings on the white material. Cut out.
9. Cut out four feet in felt. ( Any colour will do! I used green cos it's close to yellow, which is close to orange which is close to red!)
10. Cut out one face out of the white material.
11. Cut out two each of the eyes. The big circles in felt and the small ones in black material.
12. Cut out two beaks in felt.
13. Now time for sewing! Sew the body together and stuff. ( I used cotton woll but i wouldn't advice it because you cannot wash it! Use Kapok, you can get it from fabric shops!)
14. Sew the wings together, stuff and stich onto body.
15. Sew together the feet, stuff and attach to the bottom of the body.
16. Sew on the super hero face masky thing onto the middle top of the owl body.
17. Sew on the eyes.
18. Sew the beak, stuff and stich onto face.
Valla! You've finished an owl toy!
